MES inaugurates two new classrooms- one storey building

       The two-classroom, one storey  building of Mudiang Elementary School  from the City Government of Davao was inaugurated last March 30, 2016.

           Right after the 58th Closing Exercises of the Grade VI pupils , a simple blessing was made and a dedicatory prayer for the safety and progress of the occupants was offered lead by Rev. Renato P. Combatir.

           Graced the affair and ribbon-cutting was the Principal Mrs. Rameline L. Combatir and the Barangay Education Committee Kagawad Antonio Nuer of Barangay Mudiang, Davao City together with the teachers of Mudiang ES.

           The pupils and teachers will occupy in a big 7 x 9 classroom, floor with white tiles, a comfortable comfort room and a rain catchment tank for reservoir.

        The new building, constructed at the left side of the principal’s office and next to the Marcos type  building will be occupied by the Grade 5 pupils this school opening 2016-2017.

      “I am very happy that the City Government responded  quickly  to my request since the school is really in need of more classrooms to cater the increasing numbers of students every school year”, Mrs. Combatir, the school principal said.

       On the other hand, the school is still on process on requesting a new H.E. building hopefully be granted by the Local Government since the old Home Economics building is condemnable.
The school is also still on progress on the finishing of the school canteen and the repair of the AGAPP building.

       Hopefully, new chairs will also be provided for the students.


MES qualifies BLT/SBFP National Search 2016    

         Mudiang Elementary School  qualifies for the national search for the most outstanding BLT/SBFP implementer  conducted by the Jollibee Group Foundation last February 11, 2015.
       
       This was declared after the regional evaluation for the most outstanding school to implement the School Based Feeding Program (SBFP) last February 7, 2016,
     
        The feeding implementation started  last July 2014 through the  sponsorship of Busog, Lusog Talino  (BLT) Program of Davao Doctor’s  College and Jollibee Group Foundation for one year.

       By August 2015, the School Based Feeding Program of the Department of Education   allocated a budget to Mudiang Elemenary School to feed one hundred five (105) students good for one hundred twenty (120) days.

         Pupils’ served were  the children with the nutritional status of severely wasted and wasted from Kinder to Grade Six.

        SBFP program aims to 1) provide augmentation support in the feeding program for children; 2) improve knowledge, attitude and practices of children and parents through intensified nutrition and health education; and 3) improve the nutritional status of all the target children.

      Five (5) schools nationwide competed  and  two (2) schools among them came from Bunawan District, Davao City Division namely Daniel M. Perez Central Elem. School SPED Center and Mudiang El
em. School.

     The participating schools were  evaluated   using the BLT standards on Food Safety and Quality , Accountability and Community Ownership. Daniel M. Perez Central Elementary School won first and will receive a cash prize and gift certificates from Jollibee Group Foundation.
 
     Through the evaluation, parents were made aware on the standards of food preparation that can be applied at home. Thanks to all parents who help in the cooking and serving.





MES qualifies GSP Magic Spot Regional Search 2016

      For the three consecutive years of implementation, Mudiang Elementary School qualifies in the GSP regional search for the Most Outstanding Magic Spot in Region XI last March 4, 2016. 
        
          Visited the area were the regional evaluators spearheaded by Mrs. Natividad Genarque, GSP  Regional Director together with Mrs.  Milagros A. Balgoa, council executive and Mrs. Teresita Pia, Assistant Council Executive.

       Purposely, this is to identify and give recognition to the school that  effectively and efficiently transforms a “sore to the eye” area in the community into a nice, clean and beautiful spot.

   The magic spot was also evaluated annually on the cooperation  and unity among its GSP Barangay committee and stakeholders.
     
     Mrs. Natividad Genarque said that she was very  happy knowing that the school was able to maintain and sustain  the attractiveness and cleanliness of the identified Purok adjacent the Barangay Hall for 3 consecutive years which started last 2013.

     “It is an honor and a great challenge for Girl Scout Troop under Maria Lie A. Penaso to become the representative of Bunawan District in the regional search for magic spot”, the Principal Ma’am Combatir said in an interview.

     Behind the success was also the Barangay Committee headed by Mrs. Michelle Lamson together with the other  supportive parents who guaranteed a continuous support to all the projects of the GSP Council.

        A million thanks also to the Barangay Council of Mudiang for all the help extended during the contest.
